The comparison is depressing:
1. Lexus buyers get 1 year complimentary services while Toyota owners get 3 years
2. Once the complimentary period expires, Toyota owners can purchase the app suite for $5/month while the same app suite will cost the Lexus owners $7/month PLUS $265/year for Enform with Safety Connect (one cannot subscribe to the Lexus apps suite without subscribing to Enform which in turn requires to subscribe to Safety Connect). So a Lexus driver who wants only the apps suite will have to pay $349/year ($265 + 12 * $7).

The Lexus Suite contains Yelp! ...and a 12.3" screen! ;P

...while Toyota has a max ~7" screen?

You are right: indeed, when you buy a computer with a 22” monitor you pay more for Microsoft Office software than when you buy a computer with a 17” monitor.

where did you get this information from? it specifically says the app suite is only $7 a month. enform includes destination assist and eDestinations, not the app suite. so one can subscribe to the app suite separately which would come out to around $84 a year. i'm getting this straight from a Lexus representative on the phone. she didnt know the answer at first and had to ask a supervisor just to make sure.

you did pay more money for the 22" screen didnt you? and why? i think the point of that statement was that the larger screen adds more value to the overall experience.

whats stupid is that i highly doubt lexus/toyota will even update the apps on it, what you see is what you get or in 2 years they will realease a new updated os and you will have to fork up $ to upgrade similar to navi ...stupid prepratory crap..

Rumor has it that Lexus will back away from the annual Enform subscription and maybe only charge $7 or even less for the apps. Seems they're getting feedback already of how stupid this is and how likely it will be that no one will "re-up" after their first complementary year...

proprietary? That's the whole benefit to teaming up with these app providers. It will be up to the companies behind yelp, Pandora, and bing (microsoft) to keep up with updates. remember the first thing you did when you got in the car and booted up app suite? it went through the update process. and what it was most likely doing was applying house keeping updates from the app designers getting the system finalized. it's most likely you will see that screen again and hopefully it will happen because they are pushing out updates. I have already sent a few emails to these companies asking if they plan on updating their apps and optimizing them for the 12.3" screen so i will know for sure shortly. but based on speculation it seems likely. when apps first came out for the iPad they were sloppy enlargements of the original but over time app developers started making specific design changes aimed at improving the app usage on a tablet. It is my hopes that the same mentality will be carried through with this nav screen. it's a huge benefit for the companies to be utilized in a Lexus vehicle so i can't imagine them dropping support or updating them at the pace Lexus updates it's nav versions. Lexus has offloaded the responsibility to the app providers so that choice will either make or break this interface.

There are more available apps on the Lexus Enform App Suite compared to the Toyota Entune system. Also you must tether your smartphone to the Entune system while you can use Bluetooth 2.0 to connect to Enform.
