Default Test Drives

When will the 2013 Lexus GS be available for test drive? I would need to test drive before buying.

They should be rolling out at your Lexus dealer now. You may want to call around and check.

I was able to get a short test drive of a 2013 F-sport when the Lexus reps brought a couple into the dealer for shows. The car look really nice in person IMO. I especially love the front. The back is too much like the IS. Interior is definitely a step up from the 3GS but other than that, I didn't feel like it's anything new. I was only able to drive it for about 10minutes though. I ultimately signed on a 2011 since I got a great deal and I would have to pay full MSRP on the 2013.
My dealership said they should have the car available shortly after the Superbowl. Maybe the week after. No lexus dealership is allowed to sell the 4GS until at least after the supwerbowl.

I liked how 3 GS feels at test drive a lot. I compared it to many cars as m35, 535i, e350, a6(old) and GS was clear winner. So considered new interior, better electronics, and unique exterior, I would certainly pick GS if was on market.

I test drove a base model today. It didn't have wood steering wheel or leg extension or any of the controls in the backseat armrest. The car is VERY smooth. The steering is much tighter. I was really impressed with how it drove. It didn't seem to accelerate as quickly as I thought it would and we had it in Sport mode.

They had just gotten 3 F-Sport models off of the truck and hadn't taken any of the plastic off yet so I couldn't drive one of those. The "loaded" up model was on the showroom floor (non F-Sport). The wood steering wheel is a step up for this generation....much nicer. The leg extension is a nice feature. The back door sun shades are integrated well....just wish they were electronically controlled. The trunk opening is huge...much better! The sticker on their showroom model was $61K..had everything except F-Sport options.

They had a red F-Sport model that hadn't been cleaned up yet, but that red color is SWEET. That will be the color I choose if I can get a reasonable deal on one.

i don't think sport mode changes anything on acceleration. somehow i thought it's in the fsport and when you put it in s+ mode, then the throttle is a bit more responsive? still, acceleration i thought is the same across all 4gs (minus awd, if anything)

What the sports mode does is remaps the transmission for faster shifting so it does change it. The GS is still new so the engine will need break in to become more responsive and i know that from many cars. My old GS was faster after few thousand miles off the line. Same goes for my 2011 BMW 535i.

3GS sport mode did improve on responsiveness... but at the same time, it is the same if you press the pedal to the metal.

All I'm saying is that when I floored it, it didn't respond like my 3GS does.

Test drove the GS 350 F-Sport RWD with rear active steer. Honest opinion holy crap! This car is crazy made a turn at 50 Mph with no problem. The car drives really nicely and the sound from the engine sounds like there is an Intake didn’t see one but sounded great. I have one problem you cannot change the aluminum to wood, and also when I depressed the gas pedal it felt tough like there was resistance not sure if that was normal. The rear is a little problem but the front looks good. Im sold now I just need to wait tell May when the 450h comes out. Also the dealership was Herb Chambers Lexus.
