well usually with time, better things are made... so thats not backwards, it is called progression ;-).

as to the S/C, Lotus numbers are identical to Toyota TRD S/C...

It's because it was a Toyota developed S/C

of course... it is just that i laugh when british newspapers report how lotus gets "bespoke" tuning, when in reality, toyota doesnt allow even their own companies to touch their stuff.

I remember quite well how few years back TTE said that they can not access Toyota ECUs as that division in JPN doesnt allow access to anyone.... so they also used piggybacks as anyone else for their tuning :-).
