My wife can't wait to trade in her Acura TL for the new GS, but i'm talking her out of it for now.
The 3.5 is nowhere near long in the tooth and is quite probably capable of a fair bit more power than Lexus chooses to release it with. Those ponies probably went in to improving fuel economy (I hope anyway), and I doubt Lexus is going to pull the same thing this time around.

is it safe to say that they just put the exact same IS 3.5 in the GS? I mean I know its the same engine, but this time its the same tune and program.

I find it funny how trough out the presentation they kept saying (even Akio) that it has to look very aggressive and bold while in reality it looks plain and unoffensive with some nice details. This leads me to believe that it doesn't really drive that sharp since they were also talking how sporty it is. Overall they exaggerate like hell.

Surfaces are generally subdued, the elongated chrome fangs on the grill are a ridiculously stupid decision, the door handles are not as expensive looking as those on the ES and LS, neither are the mirrors, and the rear bumper is very dull.

On the flip side the stance looks good, lighting looks interesting and it's inoffensive overall. However I don't think it looks very desirable, at least not as much as it should.
The back needs those diagonal lines from LF-Gh more than anything. That was a really nice detail that says this car is all about dynamics.

Taillights lost its aggressiveness in transition somewhere as well.

I think it's a tad bland, but for me it's elegant, conservative and nice overall. I think
it hits the target market well which is OLDer people like myself. We should not be expecting it to look like a Lambo or a Ferrari...

It's a very nice effort. I think it's meaningless to say it looks like a Honda Accord, etc because eventually all cars look very similar
to something else anyways... If a styling queue looks good everyone copies it anyways.

I would love to get one in dark blue with light leather. Someday...
