Default Windshield wipers

I was looking at replacing or cleaning my windshield wipers and noticed the passenger side wiper is very loose.
I tried taking the driver side one off and couldn't even do it but the passenger one just kinda flops around.
Does this sound fairly normal or is it a broken part?

btw which windshield wipers do you guys recommend if I were to replace them. I guess it's overdue since I haven't done it in 3 years lol

Oem you replace the rubber insert not the entire blade. I would keep the oem wiper and just replace the rubber insert. I change out my rubber inserts once a year.

Like the insert flopping around or the entire arm or?

You can simply replace the inserts and my dealer will just to the change out free of charge. If there are more parts loose then you might have a completely different issue

yeah the arm can move up and down really easily to the point where if the wipers are standing up pretty much the force of gravity will displace the arm and detach it from the main metal arm.
Anyways I bought new ones just in case

I assume I messed it up during winter time with all the ice and snow on it. I wasn't careful at all when using them.

Are you aware of the winter, snow position, for the wipers?

Just a huge thanks to all the folks who answer all these questions for us (I'm sure its same question more than once!). I had been wondering how the heck you put the wipers up to either clean under them or change the blade or if you wanted to leave them up before a winter storm. I was going to try to search the threads and then this popped up and this hint about "snow position" was all it took to help me figure things out and find it in the owners manuals. A very similar thing happened with the side view mirrors - I thought I was going nuts that they sometimes seemed to move when the car was in reverse and other times didn't and didn't know if I was imagining things or remembering the loaner or what! Someone else's recent question about the mirrors had a hint about what activated/deactivated that. With these cars having so many settings and features and things (and a set of manuals bigger than Atlas Shrugged or The Odyssey) it's hard to know what's even possible!

So again - Thanks to everyone who takes the time to share their knowledge!

PS - with my Infiniti I alwasy just did the OEM inserts as well. I was shocked at how well/long they seemed to last.

Stick with the OEM inserts. I have tried them all over the years, and every few years I blow $100 on blades and try all the new ones, and I ALWAYS come back to the OEM blades.

You can find the inserts at a good price from this dealer on eBay:

They also have a lot of other parts you may need for good pricing.
