Hello, I have 2015 Lexus GS. Recently Lexus updated their firmware and Amazon Alexa was included. It works really well and I'm very happy with that, I can ask the assistant in car to do the things and it does that.

The problem I'm having is that, when asked Alexa, to find the nearest Walmart, it finds with the address which it says verbally and sometimes even shows a list on the screen with addresses and after that if I ask it to navigate me there, or select an address with the controller, the maps screen comes on but without any navigation or Directions.

I have tried it multiple times, if I ask find me a Starbucks, it will show me a list and even if I select that, the map screen will come on without any option to actually start the navigation. I feel that somehow the address that the Alexa pulls from Internet is not crossing over to the Lexus built-in navigation system.

Since I have 2015 GS, the enform 2.0 App or the Amazon + Lexus App does not work with my car. I do have the basic Lexis enform App along with Amazon Alexa app. I would really love to have that link between the address from Alexa and built-in navigation system of my car.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

You are correct in your findings. App Suite 2.0 with Gen 10 / 11 Navigation and Lexus + Alexa is the only thing that is compatible for Alexa to put addresses into the Lexus Nav. unfortunately not even the 2021 GS will get this kind of integration.

 

2021 GS will get Enform Version 0.0 and u need to assemble the car urself in ur backyard, Flintstones style. Back to stone age for the GS.

thank you for reply, it is sad and frustrating, it seems like lexus puts very little in their IT department. Their lexus app which i have does give example in instructions like "ask alexa for directions" but then it does not send it to nav unit.

 

Mine sends it to the nav. 2015.
if I have the nav screen already up, it will not send it because the map will not refresh but if my main screen is showing Alexa, and I pick and address, it sends it to my nav when I switch to it.

 

When did Lexus include Amazon alexa? I have a 2015 GS and don't see any such updates?

 

Go into your car settings and check and download for software updates to Enform, then Alexa will show up in Enform. You also need to update your Enform phone app. You probably (I already had it) have to have Alexa app on your phone.

 

I have not tried picking an address, will have to test that.
Have you been able to get a destination by just saying an address or local store name? I can't...

 

Just checked enform app and didn't see mention of ALexa... Not in car, but wouldn't it still show me?

 

Do you have 2015 GS with Lexus app & Alexa app (and not enform 2.0 OR lexus+alexa)???

 

Holy crap, had no idea there was Alexa integration in the GS. Updated enform, then connected the account and wham, works. Pretty cool.
