Default Finally fixed the rattle issue

I discovered that the rattle was coming from 2x 10 mm loose front speaker screws located next to the a-pillar. The constant rattle was unbearable (yes, I know first world problem). After quick search, I was able to remove the speaker grill and tighten the loose screws with 10mm wrench. I would highly recommend checking these two screws for possible rattle problem with your GS350..

yup. I used plastic trim remover tool. I believe you can also use flat head screw driver (just be careful not to scratch your dash).

That must be where the rattle was coming from on the front corner driver side on the one I just traded. That was driving me insane! Thanks for sharing!

I'm subscribing just in case. I believe the right speaker grille, a while ago, sometimes made plastic expanding noises when going on bumps. But it may be the speaker screws as we can be surprised and I didn't do a complete check of all possible rattling sources. I work the same way, when I had my dashboard creaking, I tried to convince myself come on, this is a car dashboard noise, there are wars and starvations going on in the world but it still drove me nuts 🤦 It's been a week since the rattles suddenly all decided to go away though, so I might as well enjoy

I hate rattles! I thought that Lexus was really great with keeping cabin sounds to a minimum but I am not sure I know how it is holding up over time. I may have just became more sensitive to cabin noise. Overall still a smooth ride though

the worst offender was my 06 GS300. Even after countless hours of DIY rattle prevention, nothing worked..

This is my car and it hurts reading this because I spent and I'm still spending countless hours trying to stuff spaces with felt, disassembling things, test driving to see if it made a difference, and searching the Internet about those noises.

I'll probably look for a 2008 or 2009 GS350 this winter, so I can drive them in cold temperatures to check for noises. And yes I'm still interested in 3rd gen GSs, because all the qualities engineered into them are there... Engine, comfort, style etc. However. If the 2nd one turns out to have the same problems some hours or days post-purchase despite how in-depth I'm going to check against them, I'm giving up on these cars. Hope there will be enough left with reasonable mileage.

I enjoyed my 3rd gen GS's. However, I do not recommend getting 06 GS300. Try to get anything above 07+.

Yes, this is what I learned the hard way. I still can't wait for my first 4GS. They seem so much better put together in that regard. That said, the paradox is everywhere you touch is made of some nice material already in the 3GS. This is the way it is put together which has gone wrong. At least, my car isn't subject to reliability issues that I discovered to be frequent on 3GSs as well according to forums, which surprised me a bit.
