Armrest Storage cover can't open
Hi there,
My center front armrest cover (for the driver) can't slide to open. It can only slide back like 0.25-0.5 inch not more than that. I can still able to pull the lever up but that's it. There is no way I can slide more than that hence it can't open at all. Not sure if the things I stored cause the blocking of the sliding mechanism or not. Anyone have a hint on how to fix, how to remove the armrest cover without breaking thing. Or should I just force push it backward?? Thanks, https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...c15d9fecda.jpg Maximum slid backward. |

Something inside might be blocking it. You might just have to force it and hope it doesn't break, or just push back/forth hard.
Attached are the console removal instructions, if that helps. If you get it out of the car you can probably diagnose the problem better. Don't need to open the lid to remove the console: |
Happens to me from time to time because something is typically blocking it from sliding smoothly. I usually slide it back and forth quickly to see if it will "un-jam" and it does.
Tip: Be sure not to store too much in that upper tray area - even though when its open it appears to be spacious enough to store bulkier items, the clearance between the items in the tray and the sliding console is minimal. |
Thank you all. I tried many times. Gave up!
Will bring into dealer shop this weekend. |
