Installed 12volt solutions remote start today in my 2015 F Sport and I love it. Bought the car a couple weeks ago with 22k miles and I love it way more than my 07 GS. I still don’t get why this option isn’t standard in a Lexus but it is what it is. Very good alternative than paying for remote start service.

 

Does the car switch off when you open the driver's door?

 

Got a link? Is it a separate key fob? If so, that would be a deal breaker.

Same as factory remote start: uses factory remote, shuts off car when door is opened, which is apparently a Toyota thing.

 

Yes it cuts off. All Toyota cars do and you can’t bypass it to my knowledge.

 

Factory fob used. Hit the lock button 3 times to start and cut off.

 

I had the 12 volt solutions remote start on my 2010 4Runner and it did NOT shut off when opening doors. That was the big selling feature to me. In the newer toyota’s, however, it’s not possible unfortunately.
