GROM VL2 installed
Is there anyway to get the Full screen to display on the 2013 - 2015 Models? Any other aftermarket adjunct you can add to override and make the VL2 use the whole screen, instead of the Factory split?
Peasodos swapped a 16+ screen and radio into his ' 13 before it was wrecked. Search his threads. You would also need to contact GROM to see what would need to be changed if you swap screens and radios
Frankenstein 2017+ GS Head Unit into a 2013 GSh: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-2013-gsh.html
^ I think the title of this topic should really be Frankenstein 2016+ GS Head Unit into a 2013 GSh (since nothing really changed after 2016 and @peasodos actually used 2016 parts - post#12)
Keep in mind your stock backup camera will not work unless you're upgrading from a 2015+ vehicle: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post10703698
Hope this helps,

So if I am understanding the Screen and Head unit upgraded this is the Standard Head unit, not the M/L system correct?
I want to do this upgrade but have the M/L system. Has anyone done this or know if the M/L system is about the same?

I can't believe this thread has 65 pages lol I wasn't expecting to find much about this unit. Has anyone who's had the GROM VLine2 for 6+ months ran into any major issues? I know no aftermarket system is perfect but reliability and convenience are important to me and I'm heavily leaning towards this system over the Beat Sonic due to the complaints I've read.
Thanks for the response. Turning the car off and back on didn’t fix it? You had to actually go in to unplug it?
Yeah, doesn't happen often and the cause is unknown. Others have seen it as well (black screen). A quick unplug works every time.
In the early versions it happened more often. I can't remember having to do it for at least 6 months.

In couple years I had VL2 in my GS, I had 3 BSOD total. I believe it was caused by bad firmware. It got much more stable towards the end, GROM seems to have remedy most issues. I now have VL2 in my Acura RLX. It's rock solid. Everything works, zero BSOD so far in couple months since I installed it. Really loving it more in my RLX than GS because everything is so smooth no glitches. No regrets going with GROM. I'm thinking picking up a 3rd VL2 unit for wife's MDX.
VL2 unts have delayed power off feature, so turning car off doesn't shutdown VL2 for several minutes. I guess you could turn car off and wait 15 minutes. Yanking plug is quicker.
Okay, so I decided that I'll buy this system when it's back in stock soon. Is there a difference between the LEX7VL2 and the LEX89VL2? I have 2013 GS and both are compatible with my car but I just want to make sure there isn't anything I'm missing before buying
