My GS is a 17. The 15 and under GS don’t have the full screen capability. It has nothing to do with iOS 13. I still think the upcoming CarPlay will look good on those screens too
Just finished my install last night. The UI and what not is AMAZING. For anyone who's as obssesed with a clean OEM look like me use this instead of the supplied USB cable.
My only grip is that the Volume inside of Apple CarPlay + The Volume in Grom UI is about 30% lower than stock OEM UI.
Any thoughts?

Here’s what to do for the volume issue. Unplug your phone from the USB cable and click on CarPlay (while it’s gray). This will take you to CarPlay settings where you will see volume controls for the mic and the system itself.
On the GROM side, click on the top left corner for settings (the three lines) and you should volume settings in there.
Good luck and let me know if that’s worked.
Nice and thanks for sharing that amazon link! I ordered it immediately.

The Looped back port is for my Dashcam. Didn't want to hardwire it because of the 5v they use rather than 12. Don't like the way it looks but meh.
EDIT:
Factory reset + Mic Gain set to highest on GROM + CarPlay = Fixed sound!! Sound volume is now 1:1 with OEM. If anyone in the future has any questions with regards to this setup please let me know. This was a fun one to do!
~5 Hours soup to nuts including running the cable down the center console (First time disassembling car as well).
If anyone wants videos, demos or has any questions please let me know. I'm super picky about my technology and this has been a dream!

Its good to hear GROM is getting it together regarding the cables they sell in the VL2 kit. I had some issues with mine and had to re-solder the video cable myself, but since i fixed it it has been rock solid. GROM did retroactively discount the VL2 for the cabling issue at least.
