Default Does the Back Switch on your Steering Wheel work?

I have a CPO 2015 GS 350 F Sport. You're probably familiar with the "Return to the previous screen" symbol on the Navigation/Audio screen. When you click on it with the Remote Touch mouse, the previous screen is displayed. But the Back Switch (under the Talk switch) on my steering wheel does not perform the same function, which it should, according to the manual. The only thing it does is beep twice when I hold it down. The exception is when I activate the Talk switch, then the Back Switch cancels voice recognition.

Does your steering wheel Back Switch behave as specified in the owner's manual, or like mine? I would like to have it fixed the next time I have the car in for maintenance. But it's a relatively minor thing and I'd hate for anything else to get FUBAR'ed!

It does not work on mine either. I figured that is how it was designed and never bothered to delve into it. Sure someone else can provide more info.

My 'Go Back' button doesn't work either.

Maybe the 'Go Back' button is for something other than returning to the previous screen.

It works on mine to “go back” on the center screen between my speedometer and tachometer. For example, when you go into the settings to change the sport or eco lamp. That switch returns you to the previous screen on the center tft.

JDR76 - Interesting. I've never played with those settings. I'll have to check it out!

I too was disappointed in that the back button only works for voice commands. In my Infinti, the similar back button on the steering wheel functions as a proper back button, universally.

The steering wheel spoke "menu" and "go back" buttons along with the four square
selector pad with the "white dot" center button all control the DIC, Driver Informantion
Center in between the tach and speedo.

Factory default when you press menu is MPG (since reset). If you prefer Miles to Empty
(range) to be the default just use the four square to move down to Miles to Empty and
then hold down the Menu button until the screen asks if you want to change the default?
Move to Yes and press the white dot. Now every time you hit the steering wheel menu
you will get your range.

Note that there are two different MPG displays, one above and one below Range. The
factory default is MPG (since reset) that will give you an Average MPG for up to 9,999
miles and if you do not reset it, it becomes a rolling 10K mile average. If you now go
to the Navigation Screen and use the center console menu button to bring up Info and
then Fuel Economy you will see either Trip Info for the last 15 minutes or...Past Record
which is the last (up to) 9,999 miles! We reset ours every 3 months on the seasons.
Shows the last year and a half as having lower MPG in the winter... who knew?

Weird. I spent a fair amount of time with the owner's manual, playing with the center screen during my lunch break today. The back button on my steering wheel does diddly squat. But it wasn't a total loss, I figured out how to have the outside temp display all the time.

Okay, so apparently I am full of it. I went out and double checked and I can't get it to work on the center TFT either. I apologize for the incorrect info. Maybe I'm thinking of how it works on my Highlander.

So I played around and found only one place where it does anything.

If I pull up my phone address book, either through the main screen menus or by selecting the phone button on the steering wheel, I can return to the map on the main display by pushing the back/return switch on the steering wheel. That's it. Not overly useful...
