Teach me how to use the windshield wiper..

How the hell do you use our windshield wiper??

I push the stick down all the way, until it stops, makes my wipers go super fast even when I adjust it to the slowest speed. How do I make it wipe but not as fast??

How the heck do you turn off the wipers? Pressing the stick all the way up, until it stops, will sometime slow the wipers down or itll stop in the middle of the windshield..? Pressing it up short before it stops also sometimes make it stop in the middle of the windshield.

And what is up with that button on the end of the stick thats suppose to be an automatic wiper sensor? It's suppose to wipe when it senses rain drops on my windshield but it seems like it has a mind of its own and only works sometimes. I guess its too sensitive to where it'll only work if the drops hit my windshield hard..???

Somebody learn me on this simple feature. Why does Lexus have to make it so difficult?

It's pretty easy. So where the Wiper stalk rests, lets call that 'OFF'. By lifting the stalk upwards, it will do a single wipe cycle called 'MIST'. You can push the stalk downwards once to put the wipers into 'LO', and push a second time downwards for 'HI'. For any movement you do with the wiper stalk, please note the stalk returns to the 'OFF' position. On the end of the wiper stalk is 'AUTO'. Press that and a green light will appear on the wiper stalk. You can use the little toggle switch on the wiper to adjust sensitivity/water volume. Lastly by pulling the stalk towards you, you will do the spray. When in doubt, lift the wiper stalk all the way up and let go and it will settle to 'OFF'.

Hope the info helps :)

I keep mine in auto most of the time with the medium setting set. If I wash my car I can just press the button once and it turns off, press it again and its on again. I would agree the single wipe (mist) and the speed setting took some getting used to.

I have the same issue, but I think with the wipers getting stuck in the middle of the windshield, it's actually a defect that can be replaced by the dealership under a TSB. If not, warranty will cover it. Next time I go in for service, I will ask them about this because I believe it has something to do with a bad servo motor which results in wipers stopping abruptly.
