Nice car! Thanks for sharing some pictures here. The Q50 Red Sport 400 is honestly my favorite car in the Infiniti lineup. I just was never a fan of the feeling of their "drive by wire" system which they implemented in the Q50 when it got released.

I know that a twin turbo V6 is what many of us have been waiting for Lexus to jump on for years! It's sad that Infiniti beat us to the punch when Toyota already had a solid TTV6 from their Supra that they could have improved upon.

so, i was a bit confused about the steering.

my car does not have the fly by wire steering, so it's a standard rack and pinion.

I would not have minded the fly by wire steering, but if you want the steering you need to get the hideous wood trim which does not match the interior/car at all.

quality wise it's definitely a few steps below lexus, no doubt, but the power is hard to resist, and i'm still getting used to the sitting position.

 

Not to sound rude, just voicing my opinion but thats a huge downgrade my friend. The Q50 besides the HP is a pretty ****ty car

i did say its not there quality wise, so no offense taken.

i like how it looks though and it's fast, so i dont mind the trade off.

 

what makes it *****ty? It's a competitor to the IS and a fine car.

 

I'm sure you'll be back when the 5GS will be released Unless, Lexus decides to go for the world record and keep the current V6 for another 10 years.

 

ya, you do raise a good point. the GS is not a direct competitor to the Q50. Just wish it had damn black headliner =P

I saw the Q70 in the dealer and was very impressed, materials were solid and leather was very soft. Considering the car has been out for years and currently just got revised, not bad at all.

 

The 3.5 is not weak, you just have to be willing to work it hard and rev the hell out of it. Which I'm not.

It's frustrating, these days even Ford Fusion has a 325hp / 380 lb-ft engine.

Thats a nice looking ride. Congrats OP - its definitely got the power...Last year I rented a Q50 while on vacation in Miami. It was the only "comparable" car that wasn't ridiculous (they had a Jaguar XF but wanted $120 more per day on top of my $60per day i prepaid...lol).

I had it for a week and it definitely had its pluses and minuses. I felt like it was a slight step down but it doesn't directly compete with the GS (i believe the Q70 now does size wise/price wise) so its hard to compare apples to apples here.

The engine was the standard 3.7L 328hp and it hauled a** and had a great, deep tone. Acceleration was effortless. I felt the suspension wasn't as good - i felt the GS had a more compliant ride when wanting to chill and very adaptive when ready to tear up the road.

The dual screen was cool and the car itself did feel small and "cozy" but didn't feel like it had the road presence like the GS. The materials seemed good for its class and interfaces like GPS and controls were intuitive and to my liking.

OP: The TwinTurbo must be a beast and I can only imagine it putting a smile on your face - although I do expect you to come back after your lease is over and consider that next Gen IS/GS in 2018-2019! We're all expecting big things from Lexus for the next gen...

The Q50 Red Sport 400 sits somewhere between the ISF and the IS350. Materials and interior design aren't the best, but the reliability is there and they are pretty tough cars. Shame about the runflats but you can always throw some summer rubber on the car instead.

The Q70 with the 5.6l v8 (which is super thirsty) is a nice unicorn, particularly in the L trim. They just don't make or sell many of them and they're kind of a unicorn on the road even with the 3.7. The Q70 lines up with the GS pretty well.

I'm looking forward to what everyone has in store next. The LS is ancient in car years, as is the Q60 (G37 coupe, update coming 2017) and the Q70. The Q70 got the Q50 headlights and maybe tails but otherwise is as stale as the LS. Can't wait to see the direction these go soon.

Meanwhile..after a short trip to a Lexus dealer yesterday that I thought was closed, one try hard employee informed me about the lease cash for the RCF and GSF. Now they're whispering in my ear, saying "hey, we're not $1000 a month anymore, don't you want 467hp and a circuit red interior buddy?". It's tough man, really tough.

 

lease brokers here have the GSF for 799 w tax with 3k down and 7500 miles/year, was a loaded one too.

my issue was the MPG - i commute 60 miles/day for work and needed at least 20+ MPG.

 

I would think your issue would be more with the 7.5k mi/yr, than anything. How many miles per year allowed on the Infinity?
