Need help removing the driver's side door panel

For over a month I was having a slight rattle coming from the driver's side.

Today I found that my door panel on one end is coming off. I can literally bend it and look inside

Not sure how to take the top half (where the wood trim is) off without breaking any remaining clips.

I'm sure we have people here who took their panels off. If you did, please let me know how to approach this. Thanks

I removed both of mine. I can't remember all the screws, but there's a plastic back plate behind the silver interior door handle that will pop out, and there's a screw there. Bottom of the door armrest also has a screw. Then you pop out the clips from the bottom working up and then push the whole thing up. Really easy to remove.

Just make sure you don't pull on hard it after popping it out. It has tons of wires. Let us know how it worked out.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it went.

It's pretty easy to take apart but putting back is harder.

Can you elaborate please? What are the issues you've dealt with?

I believe he meant that kinda hard to align top portion of the panel on the inner door edge first. I had the same struggle :)

It's like that for just about any car. It's frustrating to get it to line up and then for no apparent reason, it just drops in. On the Toyota 4Runner Forum I've been told that it's best to unclip the top portion from the door panel and align and install that first and then clip the door panel back onto the top portion. I did not check if that works cause I was already done with what I had to do.
