Headlight washer jet

Just noticed on my 2014 GS350, that when I need windshield washer for cleaning the windshield, my headlights also receive windshield washer. On my 2010 IS250C I have the option of having this option on or off. I can't seem to find on my GS if I can have this option set at ''off'' because I do have the button at the left hand side of the steering wheel that I can press if I want the headlights cleaned. Anybody know if this is automatic now and that I can't turn feature off or if possible, please tell me how. Thanks

Yes quite annoying since sometimes all I want is a quick wet swipe to clean my winshield and end up getting my headlights wet leaving waterspots afterwards. This feature cannot be turned off, its automatic.

I hate the damn headlight washers.. it ends up spraying onto my entire car and hood and just makes a mess..

Unless they changed it, the headlight cleaners only come on when your headlights are on. In the past, I would just turn the headlights off, spray the windshield, then turn the lights back on.

Please dont do that at night when I am driving next to you or in the opposing traffic. Its kinda dangerous to drive at night without headlights on even for a few seconds. Some of us live in the country where there are no lights anywhere. The roads can be dark as ink so you would need ever bit of light your LEDs can muster. And usually these dark country road also bright lots of dust and dirt so you would need to use you wiper/washers. Some of us would like to turn off the headlamp washers indepenantly of the headlights.

#1 The DRL come on when the headlights go off.
#2 I have used this method maybe twice in my entire life
#3 Never at night.

#1 First position on stalk right under Auto is labeled DRL Off. You could completly turn all lighys off including DRL and tail lamps.

#2 All it takes is one time to cause an accident.

#3 This issue is only a problem while at night since during the day the headlights are already off to begin with therefore there is no need to switch them off. :uh: Assuming you have stalk on Auto.

Just pulling your leg. :p

I had my GS at the dealer for its 5,000 mile service (even though I'm only at 4,100) anyway, I asked them to check to see if the headlamp washers could be disconnected from the windshield washer stalk. They said that it cannot be disabled, and that they only come on when the headlights are on. I don't understand that at all. Why does it have to be tied into the stalk when there is a button that activates them on their own? If anything there should be an option in the menus that could disable it from the stalk.

Thinking to swap front bumper on my GS450H with F-sport and just put caps on headlights washer tubes...
