So Viper/Directed updated the iPhone app for their remote start service (FINALLY) and it is vastly improved. It's a welcome refresh from the old app. And it has an Apple Watch companion app.

Odd thing is now that the app updated, whenever I lock/unlock my car via the app the front and rear parking lights flash (DRL and tail lights), once when locking and twice when unlocking. That's never happened before. The doors would just lock/unlock with no lights. Found that a bit weird considering all that was changed was the app software, unless an update was pushed to the module in the car and I didn't know. Not really a concern but odd nonetheless...

 

Is this a better option over the Enform?

 

Of course you run the risk of voiding your warranty with aftermarket products, but that aside, I'm glad I chose Viper. The Enform remote was never offered for the '13 model year so to get remote start functionality via your phone aftermarket was the way to go.
