I read that I can change the start up pics on my GS nav screen when starting the car. I like the default ones but would like to try something new. When I went to transfer my images in the directory, it asked if I really wanted to delete the existing ones. I was under the impression that what is default remains and that I can install new ones also. Does anybody know if the default ones will be removed from car nav system?

 

Default ones will not be deleted.
Also, search the thread there are threads open regarding this with directions on how to get it done. If you need further help let me know I have changed mines few months ago but I would like to change it again soon.

 

OK tried it and it transferred. From the 3 stock photos provided by Lexus, is there a way I can program it so I can choose 2 from theirs and the pic that I transferred? Can't seem to find info on that. After transfer I started the car abd the LEXUS logo appeared followed by my pic. The gif image (car with streaming clouds?) did not appear.
I was also looking to have a pic appear on the nav screen when turning off car. The image transferred in the closing screen option but when I shut down car, the screen remains black (pic does not appear)

 

hmm that I am not sure I have not tried that hopefully someone else may comment with more info on that but play around with the settings you might figure it out its not that hard.

 

OK just figured out the workings for the screen off image. This will only show up when you choose ''Display'' in the upper right corner and choose to completely close the display (thus not wanting any info). Then my uploaded image will appear on the screen. Will sleep more comfortably tonight.

 

I cannot make the images load. FAT32 formatted 8gb USB stick. Folder is named StartupImage, file is name car.jpg. Any ideas? Message says file or something is probably not named correctly.
Also, I had a really nice blue background LEXUS startup image in addition to the black one that is the default. Anyone have this logo?
