The only place I miss lighting is in the Glove Box!
It should turn on when the glove box is opened, period. Why make me turn on the car to activate the light?

That's actually a good point/idea. It should work like the mirror in the sun visor.

This explains alot, ive always thought my glove box light was blown out.

I think lexus did this to prevent battery discgarge when someone did not fully close glove box or forgot to close it altogether.

They could have included an automatic switch to just shut off after a while, kind of like if you forgot to turn off your headlights. I always forget my console has a light because I have too much junk in it.

Call me a stickler or lazy. But I would rather just open the GB and have the light turn on. To me that's part of being a Luxury model, convience
When I need to find something in my GB it's usually too dark to see the contents without some light.

The wheel for the air vents light up too. All 4 of them.

And the trunk release button.

So many small lights in this car.

Nice touch, but why offer it half-a$$ like this, idk. Was it just before Xmas when they implemented this feature? A base 3-series has 11 locations with full LED pipes, much brighter, doesn't dim on drive, you can select between two colors, and you have 10 adjustable intensity levels. THAT is attention to detail.

The reverse of the medal is that a fully loaded 328i will cost you 65k

It lights up in Park or when the door is opened. The ambient lighting level also increases on the center console and door panels and pulls when not in-gear.

There is a passenger footwell light, and it stays on when in drive.

Thank you for posting all of those photos ItzFilyO. I hadn't even noticed a few of those subtle lights that you pointed out. Probably because I haven't owned my GS for very long.

All the best,

Why do the lights dim? Well, I guess Lexus wants you to focus on the road instead of the lights, hence the dimming--kind of like the lights dimming at a show so you focus on the stage/screen. It's actually a classy feature that the majority of owners probably do not care for, present company included.
