Just called 2 local dealers today, one charge $240 the other charge $270 before tax, they want 2 hours labor. I'll pass.

Talked to my Toyota dealer and they offer do it for free if I bring in the ACN but he never done it but assure me he got all the tools needed (USB, techstream....) Seem like Toyota guys love to work on Lexus.

I just ordered it from Sewell for $93 and 2 projector led fog lights. Will post here if Toyota could do it. I have the Techstream and the cable but not the USB to load it to the HDD.

Thats pretty funny that Toyota will do it for free but Lexus won't do it for free as part of a $500 service you're already paying for lol

Yup! My Lexus dealer not even change the filters when I'm taking it in for 10K service and asked them. But my Toyota dealer offer both cabin and engine filters change for 10K service. So I'm not paying Lexus dealer a dime for any service, only warranty if need.

These dealers just miss opportunities to earn customer loyalty at every turn. You've got a tech working on the car, is it really a big deal to hook it up to a computer and install the nav update while its being worked on without charging any labor? The tech is working on the car anyways.

Couldn't agree more.

The worst part the map update not even support 3D bird view or some extra features that exit 5 years ago.

The map apps on my iPhone work great! I can input the destinations via voice (Siri) and the directions are spoken turn by turn over the speakers.

And the map app upgrades are free!

C'mon guys, save yourself some money and use your smartphones. You do have choices.

The Lexus dealer I bought the car from is 90 miles away.
So I spoke to the service manger at our local Toyota dealer. They will HAPPILY install any updates for free as long as I'm brining it in for a regular service. Sounds it's a simple matter of hooking up a device to the car and uploading the data, mostly wait time involved.

The guy sounded tickled pink that I would bring my Lexus in to them for service. He assured me they have all the technical training and equipment to do the same thing as the Lexus dealer!!

Koodo's to Toyota for setting up there dealership network to allow Lexus owners access to the Toyota network! Competition is good!

BTW this was a deal breaker for me, as I'm not wasting a whole day and driving 200 miles just to get my oil changed! After a few dealer visits I usually do my own minor maint. anyway. I just have a hard time paying someone $100+ An hour to do something as simple as changing filters.

Yes, Toyota is a great. Their techs are good and prices darn cheap. There is a downside, the lines in Toyota service are a mile long.

I wonder how much would it cost to service a Lexus in Scion dealership?

I agree, but for your average service where all they do is inspect and replace filters I'm sure the Toyota techs can handle with ease.

If the vehicle is having any kind of trouble, then the drive to the Lexus dealer is probably worth it!

I don't know what the service intervals are yet as my car still isn't ready to pickup, but I'll likely take it to Lexus for the first couple service's to make sure they know everything is working properly.

I got my 2014 this May. Is the map update more current than what I have and if so where do I go to discover changes incorporated?

Your car has the 2013 maps if it was manufactured after October 2013, I wouldnt upgrade at this point.
