Park assist sensor glitchy??

Second time in about a month. Back out of the drive way... Put car in drive and my front sensor goes off solid red like something in front of me when it obviously isn't. Then goes away when up to speed, comes back on at a stop. Both times were after heavy rain.

Had anyone else seen this? Is it somewhat normal or is a sensor bad. I'm taking it
In anyways but curious if it's normal

The rain dirtied you sensor that's all. Have never happened to me from rain but I have had it happen in snow and ice storms.

Never had that happen on any of mine with park sensors...if it keeps happening definitely take it in, could be a failure of one sensor.

It's typically a bad sensor or dirty sensor. If its anything else let us know.....

The only time my car did that was after it was waxed. When the sensors are clean it goes away.

Or there's a ghost in front of your car.

When I had my 2006 Lexus LS430 the right front parking sensor would go off randomly and was very annoying then I read somewhere that people who had installed an aftermarket HID lights with ballast have this problem with the parking sensor. So I uninstalled both ballast to see if the issue would resolve and to my surprise it worked.

Apparently the ballast caused an interference with the function of the parking sensor cause false signals. I added an extention to the ballast and installed the ballast as far away from the parking sensors as I can and now everythin way the way I want it. Did you recently modified your car to cause this problem?

No modifications done with electronics, lights, etc.

Scheduled for tomorrow, I'll see what they say. Looking at it, it wasn't really dirty.

Wow. just joined after purchasing a 2008 LS460 base model and also this club. You guys are very helpful. I've encountered this sensor issue and will clean it today. A false reading did occur during a snow fall in Chicago.

Thanks for the tips and keep the info flowing.

My front left corner sensor detected a ghost the other day at a mall parking lot and my right blind spot indicator detected a ghost too a few days ago. Car has a mind of its own.. :(

Had it happen the other day when it was snowing.
