Default BMW 528i

I thought I would share this picture with forum members.

Driving home Friday night and just noticed one of the tail pipes isn't really a tail pipe. You pay as much as the GS to get this? Unbelievable.

I think that is an exhaust flap. I know BMW uses them in some of their cars to decrease engine warmup time and/or quiet down exhaust from idle to 2500 rpm.

Or it could just be a fake exhaust pipe lol .

beamers are still nice and pays for its name, but if the right tail pipe isn't really a functioning pipe, I now question where that $50K was spent manufacturing.

Some people may say something similar in the the GS's exhaust perimeter isn't the "real" exhaust outlet. Doesn't really bother me though, I still like the aesthetic.

528i exhaust has an Active exhaust flap.

This feature is present in Almost all BMWs nowadays.

The 6cyl cars and V8 has the same feature on their exhausts.
