Default Which Car Cover? (Merged threads)

Hey guys,

So being in upstate/western NY the winters here can be pretty bad, I'm hoping that it will be as mild as it was last year Either way, I'm looking for a car cover to put over my car in the winter in case it does snow. Anyone have any suggestions for what they would use or recommend? I don't think Lexus has an OEM car cover, and if they did, are there any ones that you guys would recommend over it?

Thanks!

make sure you both do research about how to properly put on and take off car covers! its pretty difficult to do and if not done properly can scratch your car!

Default Which Car Cover?

Hi all,

Which car cober do you suggest I should get for my GS350 2013? I've seen so many offered on eBay but wasn't sure which is best.

Thanks

I also want some guidance on this. I will be away from home for a month this summer and want to cover my GS when it is outside for that month.

I got a really nice one on Ebay, although I garage my car it is the best car cover I ever bought as it is snug to the body. I got this one in black though.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Lexus-GS350-Breathable-Car-Cover-w-MirrorPocket/160885200509?_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D163%26meid%3D7467695521338684623%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1088%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D170891847588%26

That seems almost too good to be true, the price of $36.99. I have been looking at covers in the range of $300 to $400. When I bought a cover for my Porsche 911 thirty years ago, the price was about $100, as I recall. I wonder how that car cover will hold up for a month in the New Mexico sun.

I used to have a good all cotton cover that did well but I only used it in the garage. I would be afraid to leave it on outside for a month - too much wind could cause it to rub the paint and if it rains it would hold more moisture than I would like. Mine was not waterproof so the car could still breath. I would look for a friend with a vacant garage or even a rental storage garage.

I said the same thing when I got it, I wouldn't say it would last against the sun for that long but garage wise it does great.

It is waterproof as I have seen some water fall on the cover when the door was open but if it sits to long then yes it will just soak in. The cover is so tight I'm not really that worried about the cover scratching is really fits snug and it is soft textured inside.

I have the cover craft Noah 4 layer, amazing cover, I will post pics on it, hopefully tomorrow, if it stops raining, it keeps the car cool and I tried it one day, left it under the rain, the car was bone dry, after I took the cover off.

Does it have pockets for the side mirrors? Is there a strap or just grommets for the tie-down?
