It right now is between buying the CPO at Wilkie Lexus in PA, or buying a new one at Lexus of Towson. The quote they gave at Towson seems like it may actually be worth buying new.
Before you pull the trigger on a new one, call my guy at Lexus of Rockville and another guy I know at Lexus of Alexandria. I'm going to PM you the info.

From our experience so far with Lexus of Towson, it's been fair at best. The sales guy (I'll leave his name out) has been sort of standoffish at times, as well as very tangental - he even started arguing politics during our short stint at the dealer! However, the manager has been outstanding and willing to negotiate a lot.

However, I don't like how they think they have this deal in the bag. They told us to get an offer from Len Stoler Lexus (thinking that we didn't know they were the same people), but once Lexus of Rockville, and Sheehy were spoken of, the tone changed!

Yeah Towson and Len Stoler, its kind of like they're in their own world up there, like its a different market. Down closer to DC its very competitive...

the GS is amazing in the snow, even at ultra low winter temperatures (20 below 0 F), providing you do equip yourself with appropriate winter tires. Only 1 issue is, it creates over confidence of how stable/solid it is when driving 65+ mph in snowy/wintery conditions

Here's a video posted by Lexus Canada of the GS350 F-Sport AWD in the snow.

Hope this helps :

There's no lie provided by the guests in the video.
Winter has been a blast in the GS350

Like I told you in the PM, the A6 is a great car. Absolutely my second favorite, and I like it in some ways more than the GS but they just had a terrible lease. I know your dad was buying though.

What color/package did he get? Audi has better colors than Lexus too IMHO.

I was really rooting for the Lexus. My mother has an A5, and I cannot stand the steering feel in Audi's - it is very artificial and numb. Furthermore, Audi is becoming the new BMW - douchey driver's that dont know how to park, use turn signals, etc, etc. However, it's his car so if he likes it more, that's all that matters!

What he got (or is getting on April 1st):
Audi A6 3.0 Premium Plus (For the Record, this 3.0 is a ROCKET - faster than the V10 in the old S6 - Motortrend did a 0-60 in 4.7!)
Aviator Blue Metallic/Nougat Brown Leather
Cold Weather Package/Bose/BLIS/All Weather Mats

All said and done, he's paying about $1,700 over the Lexus, due to owner loyalty (because of our A5), and he's getting $10,500 on trade-in (instead of $9,500 by Lexus).

My Bro-In-Law was wondering how the new GS awd performed in the snow. All these posts have helped. I can recommend the GS to him now.
I have an RX, my Wife-IS-250. Both AWD. The RX does great in the snow, the IS is better than rear wheel drive, and marginally better than front wheel drive.

Yeah I found the steering in the A6 a lot lighter than in the GS, the car in general is less sporty, more touring like.

That it is! You can feel the FWD basis of the car though when you get on it...

Aviator Blue Metallic/Nougat Brown Leather
Nice! I was deciding between Aviator blue and oolong grey, both with the nougat brown.
