Default 2014s

Hi Guys:

I'm not a Lexus owner but I'm very interested in the GS350. Two questions:

Does anyone know if there will be changes to the 2014s?

When will orders begin for 2014 models?

If anyone has info that would be appreciated. The local dealers are not helpful (one told me the 2014s will not be out until the fall of 2014).

FYI I'm looking at a 2013 but can't get all the options I'd like so I either compromise now or wait a bit (assuming 2014s might be different).

Thank you for your feedback.

The 2014s won't be out until the fall of 2013. There could be some minor tweaks since the 2013 is a long model year...the 2013 came out in what, April?

I know in 2006 when the GS was all new, the 2007 saw some powertrain changes. Not impossible...

Is it worth waiting? I mean...the deals are great now...

I know the feeling. To get HUD and the radar cruise control I HAD to special order the car. I am two weeks into the wait... ugh! You can always wait for 2014 and see what they change. Then the 2015 will also have some tweaks. IMHO, order what you want now and enjoy it when it comes.

If I have to wait until the fall then its not worth waiting. I was thinking since these cars were available in Feb well maybe the 2014s will be out in Feb-March. If that were the case I would certainly wait.

Yeah I'd be shocked if the 2014 was out before October.

I've been waiting for my '13 GS since the first week of August...so it's been like 4 months. The good news is that the car arrived at the port (NY) late Monday, so the end is very near.

If you want one of the less common options, like the APCS, which I did, the only way to get it is a special order. Same for the night vision, which I considered but decided against. Can't even find a demo with those options. Even got Lexus in California to look in the queue of incoming cars, and there was nothing in the US with APCS, except the special orders.

I didn't like the idea of waiting so long either, but to me APCS with the radar cruise is a must have. My wife has a 2012 Volvo S80 with something comparable, and it's great (BTW that had to be a special order too, but the wait was only about 8 weeks).

Regardless of whether you go for a 2013 or 2014, there's no way around the wait. I considered waiting for the 2014, but there's no way to be sure the changes you want will be there, and that they won't do something you do NOT want.

Sure, I really wish they had the power trunk closer available, like the new ES, but there's always going to be some compromise...do I want to wait another year? Obviously not.
