Default 12.3 Navi Screen Questions.....

First off, I absolutely love the size of the nav screen in my new GS. I am trying to figure a couple things out, and I have looked through the 3,000,000 page manual for the navigation with no luck :-(

1. The screen is huge, we all agree. However, when you have the split for the stereo/climate, and the exit popups when traveling on the FWY, it makes the map like 3 inches wide. Is there a way to turn off the popups for FWY exits?

2. Can you turn off the split screen so you can see the map on all 12.3 inches of the screen?

You can turn off the exits when on the freeway. I think it's under map mode...as for the full screen, I believe it is not possible. Others can chime in if I'm wrong.

yes exactly, you can get rid of the pop ups in the map settings. And it has to stay 60/40 but that is plenty big enough

I will look into the "map mode" to see if I can find the FWY Exit option. Thanks!

When watching a DVD does it still show the stereo/climate 60/40 split? or does it go to full screen 12.3?

That's a shame

I hope Lexus can "fix" that by a firmware update. Having 12.3 inches and just 8" being used for the map is kinda lame.

Bummer! In reality, the viewing screen size is pretty standard to what is currently on the market.

I think the screen is too wide and short to display a DVD correctly, so you would end up with black bars on the sides anyway, which is basically back to where you started with just using the left side of the screen.

Yeah, I had left it in my car from the day I got the car and was testing the DVD player.

"you're going the wrong way!!!"

"oh, he's drunk, how does he know where we're going...."

I tried out the DVD player last night. Took me a minute to figure out that the electronic parking break needed to be applied. Sound with ML is amazing!

Default I say the bigger the better

I would like the option to use the entire screen. Wall to wall no bars. Just 16:9 format the whole image and you're in business. C'mon Lexus.

Software update, Software update, Software update.
