Talking Waterpump related question

Hi everyone its been a while since I've posted.

I have a 2015 Lexus GS 350F AWD with 215,000 kms on it (car will be 11 years old in November all original parts still on the car too). Only thing I've ever replaced were tires/brakes/sunroof seal/battery/ fuel pump (under recall).

I went into the dealership today for a quick inspection as I have a noise that I originally thought was my Drive Belt(Serpentine Belt) as I've been hearing chirping and its getting louder these last few days.
I know the service manager so the inspection was free they took off the serpentine belt and checked for any cracks and it appeared fine. However upon further inspection the noise appears to be related to the water pump according to his technician.

They quoted me $2400(cad) before taxes for the entire water pump assembly including labour which is obviously a rip off so I'm going to have it done at my mechanic when it gets worse who specializes on Lexus/Toyota.

I was able to price out the parts without labour and it appears to be $740 which isn't too bad and maybe another $500 for labour at my mechanic which would be much more reasonable.

I'm a bit confused though as I don't see any leaking from the water pump(no coolant anywhere) however I do have a fan that comes on often now at idle even when the car hasn't been driven and goes off after a few minutes (I've had this issue for almost a year+ and couldn't figure it out but it may have been related to the water pump all this time).

-There is no overheating on the car(car temp looks fine), no other issues but a minor chirping noise in the morning

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think its accurate? I'll be able to get a second opinion from my mechanic once he's back from vacation but until then I'm just curious if its all related to the water pump or my service manager friend is trying to pull one on me .

Also I think if it does turn out to be the water pump I'll probably get a few other items done since I need the car for at least another 4-5 years
-thermostat
-coolant temp sensor
-serpentine belt

Anything else i should add?

Look around the WP for coolant leaking (leaves crusty pink/red residue behind when it dries). There is a “weep” hole to allow this; it’s not necessarily a true leak. It indicates fluid escaping internally and being vented. If not present (and it may have been wipe/cleaned away and take a bit to re-develop), then also have someone diagnose the noise again. As to other things, replace the PCV valve soon if you have never done that. Important for oil consumption issues.

Losing water pumps can be disastrous, but they usually give signs. The 2GR had defective ones when first introduced (c. ~2007-10 range, not yours), many were replaced under warranty and some engines were destroyed; mine was replaced under warranty in 2013-ish. Just a little history to make clear why people pay attention to water pump issues on these engines.

The job to repair it is somewhat long, it’s tedious to get at it. Personally I am re-doing mine this summer simply pro-actively, net cost is under $100 USD as OE quality pumps a gallon of coolant can be had for that - that’s the net part cost of the job, rest is labor. Before I paid the difference between $100 USD to diy it, and $2400 CAD for them to do it, I’d for sure verify it really needs to be done myself or from another trusted friend or party.
