The pic is for viewing purposes (this is not my picture), but wanted to use it for illustration as this was how it looked like when I took off the steering wheel. I ran into a problem when I switched out to an F Sport steering wheel. The spring actually came out of its place. I managed to put everything back together, but now I have the traction control light on and my BSM is not working. I get an error to check it. Do I need a new clock spring? FYI My steering wheel functions normally with all the electronics working except the turn signals. They turn on, but when I steer all the way and the wheel steers back, the turn signal does not cancels out automatically. I have to turn it off manually.
Not sure how expensive those are but it would be helpful to get the error code. In the meantime, try turning on the car and turning the steering wheel slowly all the way left then right. Do it 3 times then go for a quick drive to see if things reset.
