Would you buy Michellin CrossClimate 2 tires?
 

Looking for some follow ups from people who've purchased these tires. From what I've heard they are pretty good in the snow but can be loud and your mileage gets worse.

I have them on my Lexus ES300h. They feel unbelievably safe at rain and have normal noise so far. However, mpg decreased 1-2 mpg. I personally was disappointed from near misses in rain from my previous set of tires and researched and bought these Crossclimate 2 for rain and snow. What tires you choose, depends on your priorities. For me all tires are great in dry weather but I need them to perform great mostly in rain or snow.

And are you happy with the performance in light snow and heavy snow? Thanks

Unfortunately, I do not have much experience with snow. Used them only in a couple of snow days with roads with less than an inch of snow. This winter was mild so next winter I will know.

Maybe it's just me, but feel the CC would look weird on a GS.
Seems more like a SUV or Pick-Up play.

I have always felt the same.

Plus with some wear, and god forbid it gets uneven wear, those things must sing and hum like 4x4 off roads tires. lol!

WE have discussed this on our LS500 thread recently.
I have these tires on my wife's A4 all road and they look great. They are very quiet and handle really nice..
Its a good tire and perhaps if that GS has awd its a good fit. if not go snow tire in winter?
It is a butch looking tire for a GS but if you live in Toronto perhaps its something to consider.
I live in the Carolinas and don't see a lot of snow.

I installed these on my AWD GS last September and have driven about 5000 miles on them thus far. They handle great in the wet and easily handle the deep puddles during flash rain storms we've gotten in the NY area in recent years. I've also driven them in snow and up slippery mountain roads during ski trips to Vermont and they handled beautifully. They are quiet thus far but we'll see what happens as they wear. Initially I also thought the tires would look odd on a GS, but they seem fine to me now. Would definitely recommend them and I'd buy again.

I have them on my GS350 AWD since March 2022 and after putting about 20k miles on it, I still find them as quiet and grippy as they were brand new. I drove my car in about 6 - 8 inches of snow, no problems, and also in rain, without any issues or concerns. Though, I live in DC Metro area, where the weather does not get as frigid as it may get up in Toronto area, so something to keep in mind.

These came with my car, and they perform amazingly. It did remind me of an (almost) offroad tire at first, but after 8/9 months I never think about it

They don't look as awkward on the GS as I thought.
They look off road and noisy but they are not at all. Had them on a Sienna minivan years ago and the did just fine.

I have them on my 2018 GS 350 f sport AWD and our 2012 GX460 here in Colorado with lots of snow experience.


I am very pleased with these tires on both cars overall. They do lose maybe 1-2mpg on long highway trips in the GS350. They don’t handle corners as well as the original tires on the GS350, but, they are still good. They are a bit louder than stock, but not terribly so, especially with a few miles on them. They look aggressive and better on the car than I thought they would.
One Huge advantage and reason I got these instead of dedicated winter tires was long life with 50k+ easily possible, and after 25k miles on mine, I fully believe it will easily make that.

I have been through several nasty and slick/icy storms, and these tires definitely inspire confidence.

my vote is definitely a yes on the Cross climate 2 tires

My car had Michelin X-ice studless tires for winter when I bought it, brand new tires.
The most expensive junk tires I’ve ever driven on. After a near crash (where I actually couldn’t even put my car into the guard rail because of POS tires) I refused to drive on them any more.
Got rid of them and bought real tires.

Michelin can F’off in my rather rude and probably unpopular opinion.

I drive exclusively on Nokian Hakkapelitta for winter.

Something to keep in mind is that even if you replaced tires with the exact same tires you are taking off the new tires added tread depth can cause a reduction in MPG.

Are you saying greater tread depth results in more rolling resistance?
