note this was taken with the dipstick level
So I have a 2007 Lexus GS350 AWD, and today it had it's oil changed, but I though the 19th, to check the oil level, since the message was displayed, but I don't think a Lexus should burn this much oil, it isn't leaking, so I wondered if any of you have had the same issue.
Sounds like the place that did your oil change didnt pour in 6.5 qt of oil whats needed. Top it off, to the proper level or take it back to where you changed the oil. Having an oil leak that quickly you for sure would have seen smoke come out of the exhaust or oil spills on the ground.
Also what mileage do you usually change your oil at?
Well the guy is a trust worthy man that has treated us well, but he always puts in 7 qts of oil, but the car hasn't been leaking, everytime that car has pulled out of its lot space the lot is completely dry, no residue, and the dirt where the lot runoff goes is clean, but still we haven't had a good look at the exhaust for any signs of smoke, I'll look today to see if it's burning, but thank you for the advice.
These cars when you prolong the oil change intervals, they clog up the oil galleries in the pistons. I would stick to 3,000-4,000 miles, the problem many will purchase high dollar oils thinking that oil will last over 5k miles, while keeping the same paper oil filters. These toyota/lexus's its very harsh on them as these engine were designed at a time when 3k miles oil changes were the norm.
