I have a 2010 GS 350 that’s making a thumping sound when shifting to Drive from Park. The thumping sound is like someone tapping the microphone with their finger. I also noticed that sound a few times when driving on the freeway as well. Could this be a transmission mount? A few times a noticed a vibration when turning the car kn and having it idle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great day.

 

Best to put it on a 4 post lift, while having someone underneath visually inspect what is going on. It could be the guibo that is bad, that would give you movement, therefore making sounds. I doubt the transmission is going bad, these transmissions are almost the same as a tundra pickup truck.
