Default Transmission Solenoid Replacement (Code P0751) *Video Inside*

I’m getting a P0751 code and my car has a very very heavy jerk after the first gear change and the second. Here’s a video

https://streamable.com/ln33vl

Hard to see but it literally jerks so hard you can see me get pushed back.

Now the only code that shows is the P0751 which correlates to Shift Solenoid A. If Solenoid A correlates to Gear 1, how come I’m also getting a jerk after the second gear?

Also, should I just replace all the solenoids and replace the transmission oil?

Here’s a ebay item that has all 9 solenoidshttps://www.ebay.com/itm/9x-Transmission-Solenoid-Kit-Shift-Complete-for-Lexus-IS250-GS300-IS300-05-17/133522656559?fits=Year%3A2006%7CModel%3AGS300&hash=item1f16920d2f:g:hOYAAOSw0vVfZF1T

Would this work? Cause everywhere else I’m looking each solenoid is $100-200

Has anyone tried installing these ebay solenoids?

I’d also like to add that I bought the car used and it has 187k miles. I’m not sure if the transmission fluid has ever been drained and filled. Should I change the fluid?

What year? If it’s a 2006 I would check the TCM. They are known to go bad on the 2006 GS300

Yes 2006. Would a TCM going bad give that error code? How do I check the TCM?

I would do a drain and fill, with toyota WS fluid. Where you would drain about 3-4 qts and refill it. You replace exactly what you drained. If the issue doesnt get resolved, then your ecu maybe at fault. There are ecu repair shops that repair the 2006 GS300 ecu's for $115. You mail yours out, and they repair it for you. Inside the ECU houses the transmission module. SIA Electronics on ebay are what most use.

Sounds good I’ll start with the tranny drain and fill
