Trunk won't close
Guys,
I have 2006 GS300. When I open the trunk, it pops open and the release latch will immediately go into the close position so when trying to closing the trunk, it will hit the latch metal and won't close
I have to either keep pressing the open button and try to push the trunk down multiple times and it will eventually latch or I have to push some metal with my key in the latch to get it to open and the trunk will close normally
so far, I tried spraying it with WD40. Any suggestion?
Thanks

I have to pull the latch from inside the trunk in order to get mine to close. The lock mechanism will not go back in place automatically so pulling the emergency latch from inside the trunk is my only solution outside of paying hundreds to replace it.
Isnt there a bump stop in the trunk? Maybe you can undo that just little bit to give tension to the trunk lid. So when you press the unlock, the trunk lid pops open, and slightly bounces up.
