The first, and simplest check would be the condition of the battery. If it's low, it can produce all kinds of random error lights.

Replace the battery before you go chasing your tail. If you still have warning lights with a new battery you can report back for additional help.

These cars are somewhat sensitive when they have low battery power, and will throw out random codes

But whats concerning is the check 4wd, do you have mismatched tires on? if so thats a big no no for the awd system. The tires all must be matched in height with roughly more or less 10% difference. Seems like youre running a spare tire maybe?

He already stated that he has a dead battery. All of those systems run off of ECUs. When the voltage drops below a certain level, the ECUs will not fire up causing an error code.

Youre correct! With awd's usually when you get a low voltage you get the usually christmas tree lights, but you do not get 4wd error, atleast not on my awd. I think he may have more then 1 issue with the car.

Yeah, very possible. That's why I told him to replace the battery first, then see if any of the error codes are still present before proceeding.

If the auxillary battery fits, (and isn't smaller than your OEM batt) why not? The auxillary battery MIGHT be the same size, I'm not sure if it is a R or not (reverse polarity, as, at least for my gs430 requires a reversed polarity battery).
