Exclamation Gs 350 should I be concerned?

Looked at a nice 2008 GS with just under 100,000 for $ 9,995 Clean and no accidents but when I saw the Carfax 2 things concerned me
1st engine valve springs replaced at 58,000 buy a lexus dealer and 2nd timing chain gears changed at 64,000 also by lexus . There is also 1 recall was not taken care of
If Lexus engines are bulletproof what is going on with this one and should one pass on this

The valve springs and TC gears replacements were both Lexus factory recalls and are a must. Don't buy a 3GS unless those recalls have been done. That sounds like a pretty good deal if the car is clean.

I bought an 09 (basically the same car) with 90K mi in Jan of 18 and I paid $13,8K. , but mine is a special order vehicle that came with a bunch of upgrades.

No engines are bulletproof. It’s a myth.

In that case you’re better off with the Gs460. That engine go through a higher level of QC

Go for it! My 08 GS350 AWD has 180k trouble free miles. Just replace the water pump at 100k miles, if it hasnt already been replaced. On ebay an aisin brand (oem marked as aftermarket) for about $100 and only takes 2-3 hours to install. Very easy!
