Default Weak low beam, pictures added

I have noticed that the low beam is weak to the extent that if there is a car behind me, there will be a shadow in front of me.

Tried several types of bulbs and the same problem, so decided to change the projecter lens since they have not been changed for 11 years ( the car is 2007 ).

Heard that the Q5 projectors are good and bright, but can not find the site to get originals ones.

First, how many inches the factory is?
Second, do you recommend specific type of projector lens?

Here are 2 pictures of the current light, it looks worse in real.

I was thinking about doing this also, but then my 08 450 has a slight better output than my 06. I think our lens size is 2.75 (someone correct me I'm wrong). I was told TSX projectors are quite popular. BTW does anyone know what size projector can fit into our high beam outlet? I was thinking about putting a projector inside that housing.

Switch to Osram Nightbreaker Laser bulbs, and clean the headlight housing if needed. Before thinking about retrofitting lenses to the actual projector make sure you do your homework, it is not a task for the faint of heart. The stock projector will need some tuning after a clear lens swap. By the way, the OEM 3GS projector utilizes a 2.5" lens. Look to The Retrofit Source or Lightwerkz for retrofitting materials.

If you are set on swapping projectors, the US/EU RX350 Bi-Xenon (3" projector) will be your best bang for the buck, specifically the US RX350 Bi-X AFS projector.

Here's a start, my posting begins at comment #12:

In regards to High beam, it is best to throw in a set of 9011 Philips bulbs. There isn't much out there on retrofitting anything into the high beam position and the Philips bulbs will be your best bet until LED bulb technology improves. If you do want to venture into uncharted territory, Baja Designs has a product called the S2 Sport that could work very well as a retrofit high beam, but there will need to be an aftermarket controller to control the S2 Sport for DRL function. The controller exists, but putting all the pieces together has never been done and can get quite expensive, $300 for the lights, $150 in controllers, and who knows how much to design retrofitting brackets (still utilize the OEM headlight adjustments), also to mention one would need to pick up a used OEM housing for mock ups as doing this in a daily driver is not feasible.

Sound an expert, but there are some missing information.
First, the Osram Nightbreaker Laser bulbs looks halogen not Xenon.
Second, what is the expected price for the RX projectors.
Last, are the RX projectors the same inch which is 2.5 as you said? Could I find original ones easily? Is it easy to equip?

The Osram NBL are offered in many sizes, including the D4S that is found in your vehicle.
The RX350 projectors go for $200/pair without tuning or clear lens swap, from the previously mentioned sources.
Already stated that the RX350 projectors are 3" projectors, and they are not easy to swap as there isn`t much of a retrofitting market for the 3rd gen GS.

The hardness scale for a DYI'er, I put retrofitting before timimg an engine. This is due to the many variables that go into retrofitting and availability of certain parts. Do your hw. If you decide against retofitting, the Osram NBL is a substanstial upgrade.

The Q5 is more of a budget projector and is around $80/pair from reputable sources. Their beam pattern isn't really something to write home about, but it is good for what you get at its price point. If it were me, I'd rather same my money for a better projector and just utilize the stock setup with all new bulbs. If you were to convert to the Q5 projector, you would also have to replace your current D4S ballasts to D2S ballasts, the Q5 runs a D2S bulb, your car runs a D4S bulb. If you were to just replace your current bulbs with higher performance D4S bulbs you would not need to replace ballasts.

Going from a well used HID bulb to a brand new bulb is very noticeable, going from a well used HID to a higher performance HID bulb. will be drastic.

Lastly, your photo finally loaded, it looks like your headlight lenses are a bit yellow and worn. Here is a good starting place to rejuvenate those Headlight lenses:

Didn’t see this point mentioned so I’d like to remind you that the higher the kelvin temperature the lower the output. Stock on most GS models are 4300K which is optimal for me, and although the higher temp HIDs look nice on some cars, I care more about seeing clearly at night. I wouldn’t go no higher than 6000K if I were to swap out my stock HIDs.

They are very more yellow in real.
When it comes to the headlights aim, I have a real issue.

I wonder if the bulbs you were trying were counterfeit bulbs. The market is filled with them
