Default Oil filter housing replacement

460 came with a phenolic ( plastic) filter housing. The ears were beat and it was prone to leak unless it was over tightened.
Replaced it with Toyota factory GR Aluminum housing. You only need to spin off 460 center filter screen and attach it to the GR housing

did you get the proper cap removal tool? I changed my oil recently, and it came off very easily.

you must not have the right tool. I haven’t had an issue with mine in 5 years

I have been using these tools to do the GS 460's oil change for the last 12 years without any failures.

I did, I just over tightened it last time (first time). The car is no longer a daily so I dont plan on changing the oil anytime soon, but I definitely want to have the metal housing next time I do so. What do you guys think of this oil?

decent oil. I wouldn’t go over 6k mileage though. Probably use same oil next time. Don’t care for oem filter as the filter is made by another company. Probably hengst or wick. Buy their brand and save

their supplier is going to change over time depending on who wins the bid. I work in purchasing so I know this rodeo well. That’s one thing most really don’t realize. Toyota designs and engineer but they do not make 90% of their parts and especially maintenance items. You have to have large economies of scale and scope to be profitable.

just use the wix gold. You won’t get much better than that. Only any brands besides frame. Stay away from that. Very low quality and design.
