Default Custom flat-bottomed Steering Wheel

Just thought I'd share this since the question comes up from time to time. I've always liked the custom steering wheel on my M3, but now on the GS I was looking for something with a less aggressive flat bottom so I can let it spin on the tight full locks that I have to do downtown where I work. You guys may have someone stateside to do this but out here in Asia it's not so common. There's this guy in Latvia that I've used before and he does first class work https://www.ebay.com/str/ledermanzbygriguldesignusa.

Note that my steering wheel is the late model design, which is more elegant but less sporty. I had to get an airbag cover from an earlier 3GS and transfer the ignitor over. I have a hybrid so there's no paddle shifting to worry about. In any case I prefer the look of the 3GS steering wheel compared to the 2IS. This is one of the most fantastic mods as the steering wheel is essentially what connects you to the car.

I like it. Not too aggressive and way better than the boring original 👍

Can I ask where you got your gear shifter cover plate from?

That is the same factory cover plate as on my 09 GS350. I think they changed the design in 2008.

Thanks! I was tempted to do the IS-style steering wheel swap, but since I'm a hybrid I have no need for paddle shifting and the IS flat-bottom designs were a little too aggressive for me as I make a lot of U-turns and multi points for tight parking
