It will not work. The Bluetooth in the 06 and I think up to 09 is only for phone calls. Newer models have bluetooth streaming.
The only way around this is to buy a bluetooth module for streaming music.

I'm not sure if you guys with the higher up years have better resolution. but the 06 screens are BAAAAAD.... I can literally see the grains on the screen lol.
If you're interested OP, instead if lugging around a giant ipad. I bought one of these... connected a 128gb USB stick to it, and put it on random & autoplay (with music videos). There's still so much space on it I don't even know what to do with it... I ran a 12V 4-way cigarette lighter splitter & USB phone charger into my glovebox and voila. Wires all tucked away, car autoplays music videos, and all I have to do is get in the car and drive. No fumbling for anything. When I get bored of music, I swap out flash drives and go about my business.
Ohh, I also cut the wires and hooked it up to a old usb charging cable that's phone connector went bad. These take as much power as your phone chargers.
This should all be done while you're wiring up the BT/Aux cable unit.
