GS 350 DRL/High beam replacement
#16
On our GS, they come from the high beams. The parking lamps come on when the low beams or parking lights are on.

Our HID and LED bulbs have this in common: once they are on they are either ON or OFF, with no real in-betweens. You need the CANBUS/PWM anti-flicker modules to regulate the power flow and prevent flickering/startup issues in DRL mode, but the lights are going to be on at full brightness either way. At this point, if you want brighter High Beams but still need the dimmer DRL function, you might have to stick with halogens, like 9005 Osram Night Breakers (performance bulbs with a bit more output than stock).

are there any pictures of a car with these bulbs we can see? Really interested in getting these.

I've used HIDs and LEDs on the high beams.
Like Danny from XenonDepot has said. You need the anti-flicker module (aka capacitor) for it to work properly.
Whether you use either or, it will look like overkill, as it is either on full blast, or off completely, there is no inbetween.
For HIDs, you'll need: HID Kit, Capacitor/anti-flicker module, and Relay kit:
-You'll install the relay kit, with positive going directly to the battery, negative to chassis.
-Then you'll connect the capacitor between the OEM 9005 Harness and the relay kit.
-Then you'll proceed to install the relay kit onto the HID kit, and install the bulbs into the 9005 Housing.
There is a diagram on how to do all this on one of the tutorials I made in the DIY section.

For LEDs, you'll need LED bulbs & Capacitor/Anti-flicker module:
-You'll install the LED bulb in the headlight housing.
-You'll install the Capacitor between the factory harness & the LED connector.
I don't have a diagram for this, but it's pretty straight forward (everything minus the Relay Kit).

this is correct. i personally would run LEDs over HIDs.. no startup wait/instant brightness. less problems compared to having a hid setup. imagine needing to use your high beams in a certain situation and having to wait for it to fully warm up to actually see whats in front of you.. yeah no ty. also, the DRL/parking light bulb housing is pretty small so running HIDs could possibly melt that area.
