Default update nav system

What is the best way to get my 2011 GS350 nav/map system updated?

Get a new nav disk from the dealership.

Be wary of ebay. Don't order a rip version.

From my research, our GEN 6 system is only updateable from a USB drive and special computer that connects via firewire under the dash. They are pretty jealous of that data. I think you need something more than TIS to update it. There is no DVD in car, it runs off a HD.

Honestly it is not worth it. The GPS does not have road speeds and any time estimates are a joke. It is a nice conversation piece but beyond that I can't say it is truly worthwhile. There used to a system to mirror android on it, I don't think it is made anymore.

Sorry. That is incorrect. There is a dvd drive in the glove box. Lexus did not use hard drive on the GS. Microsd started on the 4th gen GS.

Well this is what I'm going by, and I never found any discs that work with the 10-11 GS. Seems there would be eager beavers selling them on Ebay.

So, not only did Lexus save money on the DVD drive, but now you have NO CHOICE but to visit the dealer. Smart!

Does any of the newer versions update the graphics on older nav systems?

From my understanding, it just upgrades the streets and not the graphics but don't quote me on that.
