Default The damn abs actuator and batteries!

Hello. Mostly American friends. South Korean member here.

I recently bought an used ‘08 GS450H model, but just one day after I receive the car problems keep happening.

Various waring lights came out from nowhere and freaked me out

And the abs module starts making this noise even when I turn off the car.

also, hybrid battery drains too fast.
And I wasn’t even going fast!!

I know a thing or two about many kinds of machines but this is my very first hybrid vehicle.
The dealer claims the hybrid batteries are replaced.
So I’m gonna check the connectors if there’s any corrosions or something.
But abs actuator is far different thing.
I couldn’t find anyone who has same problem as me.
I’ve got tons of tools so I can disassemble it.
Please help me to fix the problem.
I don’t want to spend 2k dollars for 10years old brake.

My friend there is nothing you can do about the brake actuator. Gs430,gs460, and the ls460 all suffer from that. You can run the risk of buying a used one online for about half of the dealer price or have some piece of mind and get it from the dealer with a warranty. I got lucky when I bought my car and had the dealer replace it with the standard warranty they gave on the sale of the car. I had to fight tooth and nail for them to accept there was an issue with the car as they told me that’s normal.

Fausty,
Would you happen to know if the brake actuator replacement under the extended warranty has an expiration date? I never received the notice shown on the link you posted, but my brake actuator makes the exact same noise heard on the video posted by the OP. I will call my local dealer tomorrow and ask.

I have similar problem, same lights on but mine doesn't say brake malfunction and my graph is not all solid like that, mine is still up and down driving grid. Can't figure out the problem yet either ;

Thanks guys.
Fortunately, the local service shop guys are very nice people.
They said that they are going to help me to find a way after holiday (Korean New Year’s Day).

Thanks again.

the primary coverage ended at the end of December. The secondary coverage will be 10 years from production or 150k miles whichever comes first.

2009 GS460 here.

Had my actuator replaced under warranty in 2014, and then again out of warranty in 2017.
Dealer wanted 3000+ for a new one plus installation = warranty one year.

I got one off ebay for 500 with 6 months warranty.

Dealer will not give you warranty if the part you buy off them is installed anywhere else.

Not worth buying a new one IMO.

Who installed the part for you the second time around? Are there any specific lexus hardware/software needed to perform the job?

Why did you have to replace the actuator a second time?
