How many miles are you driving each week? Any leaks that you can see? Do you know if the carbon buildup issue was addressed?

I only add 1qt every 2,500 miles in my 300.

Probably not normal, but as posted, what are your driving habits, distance, short trips, kind of oil, mileage,etc...

200 miles every couple weeks roughly. City driving. Mostly interstate/hwy driving to work

I also didn't see the warranty work done for the carbon build up in my records, so I'm guessing it wasn't addressed

I should also add that I've had this car for a year and a half, and this issue has been happening since I took it for an oil change at Toyota. Never had the issue before

everywhere ive read this is normal for these years and models, especially with higher mileage motors. Most have said rebuild will be in your future. Im not 100% on what causes this, but i believe head gaskets are the concern

Toyota would have probably changed your oil with something they use on a newer vehicle. Perhaps you should consider a High Mileage type of oil. There are lots to choose from.
  • Castrol GTX High Mileage 20W-50.
  • Mobil 1 45000 5W-30 High Mileage Motor Oil. ...
  • Pennzoil High Mileage Vehicle Oil. ...
  • Amsoil Extended Life Synthetic Motor Oil. ...
  • Valvoline (VV150-6PK) MaxLife 10W-40 Higher Mileage Motor Oil.

Dash tells me, but I still check the dip stick. Level is fine, but the dash message doesn't go away until I add. I haven't seen/noticed any leaks anywhere

My car 2006 gs430 with 170k miles. Been using all over synthetics oil brands from mobil1 to Walmart brand, not a single oil leaking problem so far. Oil change every 5k.

The main issue is 2006 gs300 mostly. Sorry to say this but you shouldn't get that car from first place. Seems like nothing but problem with most 06 gs300 owners.

I have a 2006 GS300 with 124K with no issues, I think losing a 1 quart every 200 miles is bad you sure you arent leaking, just cause you cant see it under the car doesnt mean you arent leaking cause you have plastic panels under there. Take off the plastic and place a piece of cardboard or something clean and see overnight if you have any spots. Check the filter also.
