My car is at 160,000 KM, its 08 450h. I drove home today, it was fine, started the car again to do some errands and the car started to shake and shutter and then the "check hybrid system" light came on but no other lights, no check vs, no check ecb etc etc, ONLY check hybrid system, the car runs fine, I still get power, when I floor it on all modes, the energy arrows flow to engine/wheel/battery normally. At that time my batter level was at 40%....I waited a few hours, drove again try to charge the battery a bit and now its at 70% full and the light is off, I've had even 10% level battery in rush hour traffic and nothing happened. Any ideas?

PS. I have a faulty water pump and I'm getting it replaced next week (I'm not sure if that affects it or not)

The water pump has nothing to do with your error. Most likely... the car had a brain fart which is something common on these cars If the light is off, there are no worries if you ask me.

after 10 years and over 100k miles i think is about time for the hybrid battery.. is it still original?

dealer might able to get you a firmware update or AUX battery (the small battery) and the hybrid battery health check to see first

I just replaced the AUX battery last year, and there is a firmware update for hybrid battery?

tbh i am not sure, my car was still under warranty but then the hybrid battery doesn't hold charge and i keep pushing the dealer to see if anything wrong, i had feeling they keep giving me lame excuse so my warranty will expire by the time it DID fail.

i had check hybrid system light on 3 times and they say is my AUX battery at first, software update 2nd, and finally at 95k miles the car shutted off (restart with hybrid battery all black out on screen) limp to dealer and finally they admitted is the battery that time.

I just replaced my water pump and the next day while driving on freeway, car shows "check hybrid system". Code: P0A7F
It seems odd that these might be related.
