Well it sounds like the moonroof works, so you'll probably need to replace the panel with the moonroof control buttons. If you don't want to pay dealer prices, you could call around to wrecking yards and see if they have a 3GS with the same interior as your car, then get the panel from that

Does it close even partially before starting to open again? Clean the tracks as best you can while it's open and relubricate. In my experience it doesn't take very much at all to cause the pinch protection from kicking in and reversing course all it needs is to sense even just a tiny bit of unexpected torque to cancel the closing.

mine will close, tilt and close but the open button wont open it, I have to hold down the key fob button to open to open the sunroof.
