Is this job really that bad? Shop told me they have to drop the engine and transmission. My OEM manifolds are cracked and leaking pretty bad, smell it in the cabin. I bought some replacements online but now I dont know what to do.

Labor time is 15.3 hours per Alldata. So multiply that by the shops labor rate. I've never personally done the job so I cant say is the engine has to be removed or not. But I do know they would be a pain in the *** if it can be done in the car. Are you 100% sure the manifolds are leaking? Vie never seen them go bad before.

No!, they'd lie to you...I just got ppe headers installed on my vehicle. Neither the transmission nor the subframe dont need to be dropped to remove the manifolds.

total time 3 to 6 hrs at most...highly experienced mechanic 3-4 hrs at most

Did you have a shop do it for you? I probably could do it in my garage but Id much rather pay someone 6 hours to do the job.
