4GS Intake Pipe with sound Generator fits 3GS 350 perfectly !

So I bought the "4GS Intake Pipe with sound Generator" on ebay for a reasonable price (imo).
But before I received it in the mail I went ahead came across this:
The box on the left is the f-sport intake box and the one on the right is the stock one.
I went ahead and cut that piece out on my stock box (to come as close as i could to the f-sport) and reinstalled it. The first time I started the car it rev'd a bit higher than usual ( i think its because the computer is adjusting itself to the amount air going after the adjustment to the box).
But after driving it a few times it went back to normal. And the sound from the video that JLAWS posted I actually accomplished by cutting out that piece on the intake box. Same exact sound.
After receiving my 4gs intake tube i ended up installing it and didn't really notice much a difference in sound. ( i mean on top of what i had accomplished w/ the cutout.)

Hey, just posted the intake in the classifieds. I put my car up on Craigslist as a feeler sale and someone paid my reserve price so I had to let it go

Uh...well thank you for letting all of us know this fits! I have updated a previous post (in this thread) in regards to GS450h fitment for those that are wondering. The sound is addicting, and does cause giggles. You have been warned.

Ha!! Yeah it did make me smile the brief time I had it. I think I was getting 5 mpg punching the gas to hear it. I then realize I could just use the manual shift and keep the revs high. Be warned of aggressive driving.

gs450h exhaust
Does not fit GS450h. The intake tube diameter is different in the gs450h. Yes I tried it.
I will try with a intake tube coupler as the tube was a tad short and wider than the 450h airbox. Upon inspection it looks like the 450h has a straighter intake tube vs the kinked 350 tube. Not only will I try and fit the 350 intake tube to the car, but I will also try and simply connect the sound creator to the stock 450h tube. It looks like I need a 2 inch to 1.5 inch coupler/reducer to make it fit. Will update this post.
Update: Installed with an intake coupler. I orderd a 3.5 inch reducer to 3 inch and it fit perfectly. Sounds the same at low revs, but opens up and sounds similar to the gs350 f-sport video in a post above. I feel like I am losing a little throttle response, and suppose this is due to the shape of the intake tube. (gs450h was straighter) I will be trying to modify the sound creator on the stock 450h intake tube next. I have ordered a 135 degree 2 inch to 1.5 inch intake coupler to attach the sound creator. Stay tuned...
It's been awhile with this intake tube and it will stay on the car.

It seems like the part number of *House, Air Cleaner House* the is not right.
17881-31290 is for 2.5L engine on IS 250
It looks like the part number for GS350 should be 17881-31280

Just to clarify because someone already did notice there was difference with part numbers provided.
I think i will take a chance with that airbox cutout as in f-sport version to see if there is any difference with sound and/or in power to my 450h.

Nice to hear someone already tested this to 450h. Did you use 17881-31280 or 17881-31290 hose part number for this experiment?

I did this last year
My brother put a cold air intake on his 16 IS and still had the old hose after he sold it so I put it in my 3GS made is sound better, my 4gs facelift was definitely louder.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I have just received the parts now and there seems to be something missing from the list, the L shaped coupler that connects the intake air sound creator and house air cleaner together. I believe it is part 17113-31011. Am I doing something wrong here, or do I need to order that part as well?
