Rubbing noise up front
My car has a period 2 click metallic noise that corresponds to speed. It's the front left wheel and as soon as I step on the brakes the noise disappears and reappears when I let go. I've examined and it is not the brake dust shield, nor missing anti rattle clip. I'm at a loss. Could a bad wheel bearing cause this? Car seems to brake perfectly normal. It's a very faint noise and sometimes disappears all together. Any advice of what to do next?
Did you check the inner and outer break pads? if you did, I suggest that you clean your brake pads and rotor, a rock might be stock between the pads mid divider, on the rotor, on the caliper, or brake hardwares.
There should be a thread in the DIY section on changing the front brakes. It's from the 2IS forum, but the front brakes on the IS350 and GS350 are the same
EDIT: here's the DIY: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...g-caliper.html
I wrote the torque specs down somewhere since they're not in the DIY, so I'll post them up if I find them

Regarding your clicking problem, is it possible that your front left rotor is warped?
Glad to help! I can't say for sure since I haven't yet replaced my rear pads, but logic would dictate that both the inner and outer pads should wear at the same rate, so the wear indicator should be fine on the outside. If you post up a picture, I'll compare it to my rear pads.

Found the problem. It was the brake pads. I cleaned up the shims, pads and piston surfaces. Now the noise is gone! Not sure what exactly was causing the noise but now it's all good again.
I was going to tell you at times I get the same noise. Usually its the center pin that holds the pads, with the wheels on I just push on that center pin and usually goes away. Put a small dab of grease on that pin.
