Default Broken Door Mirror Screws -- Any place to buy replacements?

Hello CL,

I have a 2008 GS350 and last week someone hit my driver's side door mirror while it was parked on the road. (Didn't think I had to fold them in this one time... Grrrr)

The mirror itself is thankfully not damaged from what I can tell (no cracks on the surface or on the back) and the mirror folding still works fine (although the housing now has some ugly scratches). However, what is damaged is one of the two plastic screws that goes into the motors that tilt the mirror left/right and up/down.

This picture is not from my car. I am borrowing this pic (modified by me) from this original thread but it illustrates my problem perfectly:

The part that has broken and needs replacing is this one:

Does anyone know what this part is called and how I can go about finding this part? I tried checking parts websites like Carson Parts (http://www.trademotion.com/parts/200...agramCallOut=5) but it doesn't seem like it can be ordered from Lexus directly.

Does anyone know if this part is typical of Toyota/Lexus door mirrors with motorized mirror adjustments? If so, maybe I can find this part online or find a junked mirror somewhere and salvage that part. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated! I would like to get rid of the tape that's currently holding my (very expensive--- $350 USD!) mirror on the actuator/housing.

P.S. I will try using superglue to glue the part on but I highly doubt that that will work.

You may need to repair that I would use a stronger light epoxy. You can probably have a machine shop custom make one for you. Its not difficult to copy on a lathe

Thanks for the advice. I contacted a machine shop and was quoted 2 hours of time at $85/hr. I think I will try an epoxy or see if I can find another mirror (either a 3GS or some other Toyota/Lexus that uses the same part).
