Help Disabling Lexus Link
Anyone know how to disable the Lexus Link system? I recently purchased the overhead console with the one that has the sunglasses holder. However, now I get the Lexus Link error everytime I start the car. Ive seen threads of people disabling it in an LS, but the GS doesnt seem to have the same plugs to swap. Anyone know how do so on the GS?
Your help is appreciated!

Havent heard from anyone. No takers?
I looked at some of the other methods people have taken to disable Lexus Link in the LS, but the GS doesnt have the same plugs in the trunk of the car.

What was your reason for buying a new overhead console? To have a sunglass holder?
I never knew 3GS had the link on top like that. So yours system is missing the link, I doubt you can disable it. Maybe if you searched for some sort of module.
Have you tried possibly taking apart the old console and just using the plug in portion and see if theres space to wedge it in. That way Link will not pull up eorrors.

Yeah, I like having a sunglasses holder in the overhead area. Plus the old one was a waste of space because lexus link isnt used any longer. There was a TSB on removing Lexus Link awhile ago. Lexus removed it for free and replaced it with the one I have now. So i'm either looking for that or direction on removal. Others have done it on the LS.
I looked for a fuse to pull, but its likely entangled with other stuff. There's no where to wedge in the old portion cause thats where the sunglass holder is.

This is the procedure guys are doing to the LS430
In the trunk passenger side, lift up the cover. You'll see 2 cables connected. Swap them. so the cables instead of looking like a "H" it'll look like a "X"
Have you tried searching for the module itself? If not you can always go to the dealer parts department with your vin and ask them to locate it for you. I would try disconnecting first then if that doesnt work cross the wires.

Yeah, i'm aware of the procedure on the LS. However, the GS doesnt have the same connectors/cables in the passenger side trunk. I believe the ML system is there along with one connector.
I'm not sure what module you're talking about. When they disable to system, I dont think they're installing a module.

There should be a small box/module that controls the Lexus Link. If you find that, thats where you should be able to disable it. Like the same process for the LS430 they crossed the wire harness on the module.

Or take it to the dealer and have them disable it, shouldnt cost more then 1/2 hours labour.
